I was brave today
We went to a travel clinic today to get ready for our Kenya trip. We got malaria pills and we got Hep A jabs. Max was quite brave.

British Museum
We visited the British Museum today. Max’s favorite things in order:
1. Buying some toy pewter knights at the end.
2. Getting to touch and hold some cool old stuff including actual mummy wrappings, a dolphin tooth necklace from around Cook’s time, and a kohl makeup pot from Egypt made from alabaster.
3. An Olympics themed treasue hunt finding related statues and medals, etc. 4. Mummys, even though they were a bit scary.

Max will kill me for this someday
This morning, while going wee…
Max: My penis got bigger!
Mommy: It’s just saying you have to go pee. It does that.
Max: I’m big! I’m five now!
Mommy: No, honey, you’re still four.
Max: Well, my penis is five.

Goodbye, Den…Hello, Lower One!
This is Max’s very last week of The Den (nursery) at his school. He’s moving up to Lower One (reception…i.e. more or less kindergarten). The last couple of weeks have been filled with all kinds of end-of-the-year things. Sports Days, dress up days, trips to the Battersea zoo, parties…
Today was the secondhand uniform swap + a chance to buy new uniform stuff from the official school supplier because yes, indeed, The Max will be required to wear a uniform in September when he heads back to school. He’ll be one of the BIG kids.
He modeled all his outfits for Daddy when Daddy got home (not pictured: winter jumper…which is pretty darn adorable).
Oh, and The Den had a little party too. With cupcakes!

The Den’s Last Assembly
The Max had his last assembly as a member of the Den (nursery) at school this morning. Can’t believe it’s the last week of school already! The next time he’s up on that stage, he’ll be in Lower 1 (reception i.e. more or less kindergarten).
The theme was Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and Max was the red bird (which he colored himself). They also did a lovely dance. Max was especially good at the “hippo hippo shake.” We’re very proud of our boy!
