Max’s First Mini!

He put his own spin on it (of course), but here is Max’s very first mini, done very nearly entirely by himself (I helped with the belt and lightning bit on the shield). There’s even blood spatter on the hammer.

And be sure to check out the close up!

And the back of it too. His name is Warrick Warhammer.

Mini Painting time

Max and his friend decided to do some more layers on their minis. They are doing great! Good thing I already had a lot of paint and brushes. 🙂

Warhammer

Max and a friend had their introduction to Warhammer today (Age of Sigmar). They started painting a mini each, gluing it together and everything.

Then they picked out some of the store’s good guys and tried out a battle. They rolled well and completely decimated the bad guys with their lightning attacks!

If Max looks concerned in that picture it’s because he was about to be attacked. Next lesson next Wednesday! We have some painting to do!

Easter Sushi!

We went to a friend’s house for Easter lunch and had homemade sushi and takoyaki. Max enjoyed making it (especially putting as much tobiko (flying fish roe) on his hand rolled sushi as he wanted. A lovely time with great food! He also learned to play Just Dance on the Wii.

Hoppy Easter!

Marley barked at the Easter Bunny, but that didn’t stop him visiting.

Smiles all around! Even from the chocolate!

Decorator Max

Max was in charge of decorating the Easter Cake.

Good Friday Day Out

This term break is starting out with excellent weather (only expected for today), so we are out and about.

We stopped by Games Workshop and scheduled a lesson for next Thursday. Picked up Poe Dameron at CEX Games. Walked to Chinatown and had lunch at Max’s favourite (Gerrard’s Corner) with Daddy, then off to Orbital Comics.

Now it turns out the free daily coffee Mommy can get from Patisserie Valerie includes cake on Fridays! A banner day for sure.

Easter Hat

Today is the last day of term and also Easter Bonnet Day. Max went for the Easter basket look this year.

The first picture really shows Max and how much he liked how his hat came out. This one shows the hat a bit better, though you can’t really tell from the pictures how the little dangling bunnies are lit up.

He’s really proud of it and enjoyed walking into school and showing it off. “Mommy,” he said, squeezing my hand as we walked to school, “thank you so much for helping make my hat! I love it!” (I was in charge of the glue gun). Sweet little man.

Tattoo Bill

The kids put on an amazing production of Peter Pan today at school. By far their most ambitious so far.

Max was Tattoo Bill. Even the school dog got involved and was a stellar Nana Darling. It was really excellent job!

Birthday Sleepover

Max’s 8th birthday sleepover was this past weekend.

There was gaming on the XBox and movies and iPad and even some drawing (which I bribed them into via a prize bucket).

The entire toy room was wall to wall beds. And kids.

He said it was EPIC.

Marley felt a little ignored, however. But he snarfed up any stray crisps, so I think he was okay.

Can’t believe the little man is eight!
