Max’s First Story
Max wrote a story today for his writing practice inspired by the Dragon Hunter’s Handbook we bought earlier today at Oxfam (he’s wearing the scarf I just finished knitting him in the picture–red, of course).
He worked really hard on his story.
He even illustrated it by drawing a knight and adding some dragon stickers. The end result is pretty awesome:
Notebook of Knights
The knight in this picture is holding two weapons. A long, long time ago knights were important. A knight had to go to do a quest. It took days and days. He had so many dragon hunters. Soon they reached the dragon!!!! They reached the mouth of the dragon!!!!! He opened the mouth of the dragon. He sprayed knock out drops in the mouth of the dragon. Fire! Extreme! And he went back. The end.

Max’s Christmas List
Max made out his Christmas Wish List today (and we updated his Amazon Wish list for family) and we were especially proud of the words he wrote out without any help at all. It was good practice for him. He is reading a few grade levels above but his handwriting needs work (hey, he is a boy…)

Daddy’s Birthday
Tony’s birthday was last night. Max wanted to keep our regular movie night but make it more special and “Max and Daddyish”.
So Daddy got some family friendly movies (The Shaggy Dog and sequel), cozy Jammie’s, angry bird slippers, and some other stuff. Mommy made a spice cake. Max managed the candles.

Fireworks
We are eating dinner and we hear a bunch of fireworks going off (Guy Fawkes Day is the 5th).
Max says, “Someone must have kissed to set off all those fireworks.”
I love five year olds.
